Alpha Game - Sengkang Sec - (13/03/11)

Another great game with almost the same players turn up from our previous big margin win. But the opponent of this game was much stronger and gave us a good fight.

Captured on the opponent slow start to the game, we scored early two goals through Ben and Adrian. But opponet progressively build up their momentum and got back to the game with 1 goal through a long range shot.

But it didn't take very long for Chee Toong inking his first mark in Alpha score chart history by rifling in an first-timer shot just inside the penalty box and the game settled with 3 -1 at half time.

Second half opponent scored their second goal in very early minutes through a fast and precise counter attack and matched us well in many aspects for most of the time. The opponent did miss a few golden opportunities including one or two open goal.

But Ben and Kent hit in one goal each at later stage to give us a secure and safer lead till the end of the game. A great and challenging 5:2 win!

Alpha Game - Siglap Sec - (27/02/11)

An opening goal in early minutes and a finishing goal in seconds before the final whistle by Kent sealed up our astonishing 10 to nothing win at Siglap.

We probably had assembled one of the strongest team for the game. With the luxury of having Kenny/Alex as stopper and last man and Ben/ Kent as striker and forward, we were all set for fire from the early minutes. First half leaded 4:0 and followed by another 6 goals in the second half.

Definitely will be a victory that will last long in the Alpha record book. A 10 to nothing win at Siglap Sec Sch where we played our first game as an informal Alpha team many years ago even made the win a more memorable one. Thank God for the Perfect 10 with a Perfect Timing.

Alpha Game - Bedok Green Sec - (23/01/11)

Another "never say die" attitude displayed by the team. A sluggish start saw us down by 3 -1 in first half but we played a very positive game in second half and came back by two goals. If not one of Adrian long shoot hit the post, crossed the line but bounced out was missed out and disallowed by the referee, we should be managed to tie the game at 4 - 4.

With only 13 players turned up plus Chee Toong sprained his ankle in first half and Edmund's recurrent back pain in the mid of second half, most of the 11 players played full game and hang on well. Richard was effective in commanding the defence and Siew was so industrious in running up and down as left back and right back.

It was great to see Adrian, Jimmy and Simon scored one each after a long time.

Alpha Humour - Choosing A Lawyer

A businessman was trying to choose a lawyer, but was being very careful about it. He scheduled appointments to interview three lawyers.

At the first lawyer’s office, after an initial exchange of pleasantries, the businessman said, “Okay, let’s get down to business. I have an important question for you, and I want you to think carefully before answering. How much is two plus two?”

The lawyer raised his eyebrows. “two plus two is four.” The businessman thanked him for his time, and proceeded to his next appointment.

The second lawyer, who was also a CPA, seemed a bit more particular than the first lawyer. After an initial discussion, the businessman again announced that he had a very important question, and asked, “How much is two plus two?”

The second lawyer went over to a computer, and entered figures into a spreadsheet. “According to my calculations, two plus two is approximately four.” The businessman thanked him for his time, and proceeded to his next appointment.

The third lawyer sat behind a big mahogany desk, and smoked a cigar. He seemed rather self-important as compared to the other two, but at the same time appeared to be much more successful. The businessman again announced, “I would like you to answer a very important question for me, before I decide whether I should use your services. How much is two plus two?”

The lawyer pulled the shades, locked the door to his office, and asked in a hushed voice, “How much do you want it to be?”
